Wilbert Perry Rundles, 95 of Gainesville passed away Friday April 4, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Rundles, born October 25, 1929, in Gainesville, GA, was the son of Lonnie J. and Annie M. Rundles. He worked for Colonial Stores transferring with the company to Chattanooga, TN. Later, Mr. Rundles began his career in banking with American National Bank. He graduated from The School of Banking of the South, Louisiana State University. Mr. Rundles successfully helped organize United Bank in Chattanooga and eventually retired as president of Ducktown Banking Company, Ducktown, TN.
After his retirement from banking, he and his late wife Jimmie Ree McNeal Rundles, owned and operated Annie’s Angels for several years. Mr. Rundles was a member of First Baptist Church of Gainesville.
Mr. Rundles was preceded in death by wife Jimmie Ree McNeal Rundles, brother Royce Jerry Rundles, and grandson Richard Lambert Rundles.
He is survived by sister-in-law Shirley Rundles, sons Michael (Becky) Rundles and Gary (Joan) Rundles, grandchildren Leslie (Seth) Wallace, Dana (Clay) Smith, Wil (Kristin) Rundles, Megan (Tim) Opsal, Alley (Wes) Scroggins as well as several nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday April 8, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Seth Wallace, Rev. Bruce Fields, and Rev. Clay Smith will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
