James Charles “J.C.” Sutton

James Charles “J.C.” Sutton, age 83, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025.

Mr. Sutton was born on January 19, 1942, in White County, to the late Carl and Dollie Arp Sutton.  In January of 1964, JC joined the United States Army and served with honor until 1967.  JC worked in maintenance for the White County Board of Education.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven Sutton; and brothers, Bobby Sutton and Johnny Sutton.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Sutton; special niece, Jackie Barnaby; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Fellowship Baptist Church located at 9760 Duncan Bridge Rd, Cleveland, GA 30528. The Rev. Michael Clark, the Rev. Chris Blocker, the Rev. Jim Barnaby, and the Rev. Dave Fortner will officiate.  Interment will follow in Gateway Memory Park with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Fellowship Baptist Church, prior to the funeral service.
