Mary Ruth Bruce, 93, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

Born August 6, 1931 in Chatsworth, GA to the late Lester and Mary Gallman, she moved to Atlanta in 1949 and to Dawson County in 2023.  Ruth retired as the office manager for Milton Smithloff, DDS in 1994.  She enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds, and was an avid Braves fan.  Also preceding her in death are her husband of 71 years, Frank Lewis Bruce; grandson, Casey Daniel Correll; sister, Ida Mae Gallman; and brothers, Willie Gallman, Robert Gallman, and Jimmy Gallman.

Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Theresa and Leslie Stanton, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Bart and Ashley Correll, Katie and Jesse McLaughlin, Emily and Brian Brix, Jacob Stanton; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Polly Long, Hiram; brother and sister in law, Johnny and Paulette Gallman, Chatsworth; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 14, 2025 at 1 o’clock in the Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on April 14 beginning at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
