Christopher “Red” Watts

Obituary Date: Tuesday, March 25, 2025

Christopher “Red” Watts, 57, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, left us too soon on March 25, 2025. Chris was born in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of Jane Watts.

Chris was good-natured, kind-hearted, and overly generous. Everyone who met him or knew him instantly recognized his good heart and sweet demeanor. He loved his family deeply, never hesitating to show up for those he cared about. His love extended to all animals, and he found joy in caring for them. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes, a place where he could find peace and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Chris was always there with an open heart and a listening ear, offering comfort and support to anyone in need. He never met a stranger. He had a way of making people feel heard and understood, providing a steady presence for those who needed him most.

Chris was also his niece and nephews’ favorite uncle, always ready with a smile, a joke, or a helping hand. Incredibly fun, he enjoyed riding jet skis, dirt bikes, and ATVs. He was fearless. He was his brother’s best friend, a bond that was unbreakable and full of shared memories. Those who knew Chris will always remember his generous spirit, his unwavering kindness, and his deep love for family and friends.

Remaining to cherish Chris’ memory are his mother, Jane Johnson Watts; brother, Tim Watts (Roz); nieces and nephews, Jason Watts, Kayla Watts, Ashley Watts, Alec Watts, Kristen Davis, and Katie Clark; longtime partner Vanessa Smith, sisters-in-law Sally Watts and Michelle Watts, very best friend Melissa Palmer Pisanie, and extended family members and many friends.

Preceding Chris in death are his grandmother, Gertrude Johnson; brother, Leslie Mark Watts; and brother, Peter Curtis Watts.

The Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Flanigan Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM followed by a service at 1:00 PM in the chapel.
