Miriam Bagwell Puckett, age 79 of Buford, GA, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Melvin D. Puckett; parents, John and Rose Lou Bowman Bagwell; brothers Blake and Phillip Bagwell; sister and her husband, Mary and Joel Kennedy; and brother-in-law, Bill Stamps. Mrs. Puckett is survived by sons, Mark Puckett of Buford, and Matthew (Ashley) Puckett of Bethlehem, GA; grandchildren, Mason Puckett of Montano, GA and Harrison and Evie Puckett of Statham, GA; great grandchild, Jireh Puckett of Statham; brothers, Kenneth (Jean) Bagwell, and Trent (Gail) Bagwell all of Buford; sister, Phyllis Bagwell Stamps of Hartwell, GA; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Bagwell of Buford and Holly Bagwell of Cleveland, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Puckett was born on December 17, 1945 in Buford, GA. She graduated in 1963 from Buford High School and then from Lanier Technical College. She retired after seventeen years as a secretary from AT&T. Mrs. Puckett was a member of Buford Church of God, where she was a member of Solid Rock Sunday School class taught by Rev. Lamar Hansard. She was well known for baking cakes and pies for the public for over nineteen years. She enjoyed gardening as well as playing the piano for over forty years at New Prospect Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Grizzle officiating. Interment will follow at New Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 12 from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at 1:00 p.m.
