It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diana Kay Lowell Wright, who left us peacefully on Saturday, March 22, 2025 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family in her final moments, finding comfort in the warmth of those who cherished her most.
Diana Kay Lowell Wright was born on August 21,1955 in Romeo, Michigan. From the beginning, she radiated kindness and strength, qualities that shaped the incredible woman and friend we were so fortunate to know. She dedicated her life to her family, always putting the needs of others before her own with unwavering love and grace.
Her faith in Jesus was the foundation of her life. She leaned on His strength through every trial and celebrated His blessings with a grateful heart. Her faithful trust in God’s plan brought her peace, even in her final days. We find comfort knowing that she is now resting in the arms of her Savior.
Diana lived to serve others, embodying the heart of Christ in everything she did. Whether it was preparing a meal for a neighbor, offering a listening ear, or sharing words of encouragement, she gave selflessly and without hesitation. Her life was a reflection of God’s love, and she touched the hearts of everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Wright, her children Jennifer (Joel) Schlutow Padgett, Kasey (Blake) Schlutow Haley, Erin (Heather) Schlutow Blocker, Wendy (Kevin) Wright Thomas, Jeremiah (Jessica) Barrett Wright, her (13) grandchildren Timmy, Kyle, Chandler, Chloe, Eli, Aiden, Taylor, Jacob, Gavin, Jonah, Jaxson, Carter, John, and three great grandchildren. She also leaves behind four brothers, Jeff (Diane) Lowell, Herb (Francine) Lowell, Phil (Jeannie) Lowell, and Gerald (Polly) Lowell all of whom were touched by her warmth and generosity. She was preceded in death by her parents Herb and Patricia Lowell, sister Mary Lowell Valente, and grandson Xavier Owen Padgett.
Diana had a gift for making others feel seen and valued. Her smile was contagious, her faith always evident, and her hugs capable of making even the hardest days better. She loved her dogs, gardening, reading, cooking, volunteering and filled our home with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Though her time with us was too short, her legacy of faith, love, and strength will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her bravery in the face of illness was a testament to her incredible spirit.
The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home in Jefferson, Georgia on Friday, March 28th from 4:00 to 6:00. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made, in her honor, to Jackson County Habitat for Humanity.
Mom, you were our guiding light and our safe place. We will miss you every day, but we are comforted knowing you are now at peace in the presence of Jesus.
