James Benjamin Guined

Obituary Date: Thursday, March 20, 2025

James Benjamin Guined, 72, of Jefferson, passed away March 20, 2025.  Born on May 31, 1952 in Butler, GA, he graduated from Taylor County High School and ABAC.  After serving in the U.S. Army, he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Georgia and was co-founder of the Certified Public Accounting firm, Williams and Guined PC.  James was of the Baptist faith and member of First Baptist Church, Jefferson. He loved spending time at their cabin where he hunted, fished, played with their dog, Mr. Bo Jangles and just enjoyed nature.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Carolyn Guined of Butler and daughter, Ashley Katherine Guined of Jefferson. 

Survivors include Claire, his loving wife of nearly 52 years; children Shane and Janey Guined of Cumming; Cody and Courtney Guined of McDonough; and Keri and Michael Carlson of San Antonio, Texas. The lights of his life were his grandchildren Wes and Reid Guined of Cumming; Dax, Ridge and Marlie Guined of McDonough; and Warren, Shepard and Bridger Carlson of SanAntonio, Texas. Other survivors include sisters Sandra and Paul Leverett of Macon; Deborah and Paul Meloun of Butler; and brother-in-law, Billy and Linda Blasche of Butler and many nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00, Tuesday March 25 at Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson. The Celebration of Life will follow in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 with Rev. Jeff Greer officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
