John Albert Adamcik, 86, of Gainesville, GA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee, from advanced Alzheimer's disease.
Born on June 11, 1938, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to the late John Andrew Adamcik and Julia Hababb. John grew up in his hometown of Glassport, PA. In 1961, he married the love of his life Margaret (Marge) Palyo (Adamcik), and they embarked on a beautiful journey together for almost 50 years, ending at their home on Lake Lanier.
John enjoyed a successful and fulfilling career in the food distribution industry, demonstrating a strong work ethic and dedication. Even after his formal retirement, his passion to keep busy led him to valuable roles with Dee Custom Homes and Pittman Dental.
Known affectionately as "Dede" to his grandchildren, John was a man of many passions. He was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, a wonderful bowler in his younger years, an avid golfer, a lover of music – especially polkas which he played by ear on his accordion. John enjoyed his coffee & donuts, and especially cheeseburgers.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marge Adamcik; his parents, John and Julia Adamcik; and his sisters, Susan, Rose Marie, and Mary Ann.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his daughter, Denise Vesco of Knoxville, Tennessee; son, Richard Adamcik of Fort Pierce, Florida; grandchildren, Nicole, Steven, and Daniel Vesco, and Andrew Adamcik. He will also be deeply missed by numerous other family members and special friends.
A graveside service to honor John's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Father Juan Jose Teran will officiate. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
