Elaine N. Curtis

Mrs. Elaine N. Curtis, age 67, of Suches, GA, formerly of Gainesville, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm at Memorial Park South, with inurnment to follow at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Pastor Kevin Connell will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the funeral home.

A second memorial service will be held at Zion Baptist Church in Suches, GA, on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 2:00pm.

Mrs. Curtis was born on July 31, 1957, in Lackawanna, New York, to the late Vernon Harrison Durham and Doris Mae Hunter Durham. She was a retired administrative assistant and a longtime member of Hopewell Baptist Church before becoming a member of Zion Baptist Church in Suches.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Curtis of Suches, GA; her children: Aaron Michael Richards (Heather) of Midlothian, VA, Bradley Vernon Richards (CharNan) of Homer, GA, Lisa Joy Curtis of Sanford, FL, Katy Sue Curtis of Orlando, FL, Celina Phillips (Dalen) of Williamsburg, OH, Melissa Kirby Mathis of Jefferson, GA, Jennifer Duncan (Jon) of Commerce, GA; her sisters: Sandra Marie Hester (late husband Bob) of Lynchburg, VA, and Sheila Mae Perine (late husband Edwin) of Valrico, FL; as well as twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren.
