Walter Clarke Randall, age 90, of Toccoa, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025. Born on December 1, 1934, in Franklin County, Georgia, he was the son of the late Walter Baxter "Dub" Randall and Sara Ann Clarke.
Clarke was raised in Gumlog, Georgia, cherishing memories of time spent with family and life on a farm. He was a member of the Lavonia First Baptist Church and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Clarke served in the 265th Field Artillery Battalion which was deployed to Baumholder, Germany during the Cold War.
On October 18, 1957, he married his beloved wife, Patricia "Patt" Brady. Together they raised two sons, Rick and Mark, building a life filled with a passion for adventure, often traveling to the Caribbean. Clarke was deeply involved in the community, serving in the Jaycees first as President of the Stephens County local Chapter, then Regional, and then Zone 2 President. After the Jaycees, he actively participated in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
Clarke enjoyed a successful career in various businesses, including “Franklin Insurance Agency” where he was President from 1976 until 1995. After retiring, he embraced a passion for travel, living for five years in Key West, Florida, before returning to Toccoa. During his final years, he shared his passion for golf with his granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patt, his brother Michael and his step-mother, Viola “V.O.” Browning Randall.
Clarke is survived by his sons, Rick and Mark, his daughter-in-law, Kim Randall; granddaughter, Katie Grace Randall; his sisters, Priscilla Watkins & Elizabeth Crump; his step-sisters, Patsy Chastain, Bobbie McCormack and Jimmie Lowery and his devoted significant other, Brenda Dooley. His sense of adventure and dedication to family and community will be remembered by all who knew him.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, March 22, from 4:00 p.m. proceeded with a Celebration of Life at 6:00 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.
