Karen Yvonne Cornett

Mrs. Karen Yvonne Cornett, age 65, of Winder passed away Saturday March 15, 2025.

Funeral Services will be Thursday March 20, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with entombment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Mrs. Cornett’s nephew Chris Cornett will officiate.  The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m – 3:00 p.m., Thursday March 20, 2025 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cornett was born September 16, 1959 to the late Shirley Henry in Gainesville, Georgia.  She was retired from Duke Reality, where she was an Executive Assistant. Mrs. Cornett also served as an administrative assistant to Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge O’Connor.

Mrs. Cornett is survived by her husband, Steve L. Cornett of Winder; son, Kyle and wife Whitney Cornett of Winder; daughter, Kimberly and husband Derek Owen of Oneonta, AL; four grandchildren: Kynley and Kamden Cornett, Ridley and Rawlings Owen; brother, Herbie Evans of Athens; and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Mrs. Cornett is preceded in death by her Mother, Shirley Henry.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made in Mrs. Karen Cornett’s name to the Gwinnett Fire Employees’ Benevolent Fund (by check to 408 Hurricane Shoals Road NE, Lawrenceville, GA 30046).
