Patricia Lee (Kesler) Suggs

Mrs. Patricia Lee (Kesler) Suggs, 79, of Athens, closed her eyes to earth and opened them in heaven, Wednesday, March 12, 2025 following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Griffin will officiate. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the service hour.

Born on Monday, July 2, 1945 in Coral Gables, FL, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Kathleen (Brooks) Kesler. In addition to her parents. Mrs. Suggs was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Merlin Hartwell Suggs.

Mrs. Suggs retired from the Georgia Department of Labor in 1999 after 34 years of service. She and Merlin loved to travel. When they retired, they spent most of their time doing just that. They traveled to Scotland, England, Ireland, Europe, and extensively throughout the United States. She loved having a good time with family and friends. Everyone who knew her loved her laugh. She was also well known as a connoisseur of coffee and pastries.

Mrs. Suggs had a very deep faith and lived the personification of the Proverbs 31 woman. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and proud grandmother. She loved her family with all her heart, and Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.

Mrs. Suggs is survived by her son and daughter in law, Trey and Valerie Hogan of Athens; grandchildren, Madison Hogan of NE, Sullivan Hogan of Athens, Eli Hogan of Athens; sister and brother in law, Barbara and Ken Boyer of KY; sister, Rose Owen of Gainesville; sister and brother in law, Sandy and Gary Fine of TX; brother and sister in law, Reg and Debbie Murphy of Buford; stepson and wife, Smokey and Adele Suggs of ME; step grandchildren, Bubba Suggs of DE, Beth and Brian Carlton of ME, Stephanie Suggs of ME, and a number of nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives.
