David Lamar Whidby, 76 of Buford, Georgia, graduated to heaven on March 6th, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father Marshall Whidby, his mother Virginia Avery and his stepfather Joseph Avery. David is survived by his sister, Sarah Whidby of Buford, his daughter, Kelly Stoenica (Dan) of Dacula, his son, Brian Whidby (Debbie) of Jefferson and Marshall Whidby (Heather) of Cumming; four grandchildren, Victoria Jones, Logan Whidby,
Eli Whidby, and Charlie Whidby; one great-grandchild, Palmer Jones with one great-grandchild on the way, Isaiah Jones. Mr. Whidby was born on April 13th, 1948 in Buford, GA. He graduated in 1966 from Buford High School and worked as a Construction Superintendent for commercial projects throughout the United States, retiring in 2013. Mr. Whidby was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War. His favorite pastime was fishing anywhere in the Southeast, enjoyed throwing darts, shooting guns and was an avid Braves Baseball and University of GA Football fan. To honor Mr. Whidby’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. An informal gathering may be announced at a later date for close family and friends.
