Ruby Irvin, age 87, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Mrs. Irvin was born on December 30, 1937, in Cleveland, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Cheever and Arie Waldroop Meaders and carried on the family tradition of making local pottery. Ruby was known most for her roosters and doves. She was a talented, self-taught pianist who loved country and gospel music. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lavon Irvin; and 7 siblings.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Stanley and Kathy Irvin; daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Michael Green; grandchildren, Emmanuel Allen Irvin, Casey Michael Green, Christopher Daniel Green, Stephen Michael Irvin, and Jonathan Connor Irvin; great-grandchildren, Lily Irvin, Avery Irvin, and Elijah Irvin; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Flynn and Mr. Emory Jones will officiate. Interment will follow in Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
