Peggy Arlene Long Pelfrey, age 91 of Toccoa, Georgia passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, at her home, after an extensive hospital stay, surrounded by her loving daughter Terri Bruce and Tom White.
The daughter of the late A.P. Long and Mae Kellar Long, Peggy was born November 3, 1933 in Stephens County, Georgia. She was a 1950 graduate of Toccoa High School and went on to graduate from the Atlanta Business School for Women in 1953. She lived in the Atlanta area where she worked as a bookkeeper. She moved back to Toccoa, Georgia with her husband Reed in 1985. In Toccoa she continued her work as a bookkeeper with Morgan Concrete and First Methodist Church.
Family, friends and community were very important to Peggy and she was loved by the community near and far. She loved the opportunities to accompany her late husband, Reed to France for the D-Day reunions. Peggy was active in her community starting the Toccoa High School Alumni, volunteered at the Stephens County Historical Society, Stephens County Food Bank and worked at the museum for many years. She was a member of Toccoa Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Reed Pelfrey, son Timothy Pressley, and brothers, Bud, Charles and Bill Long.
Survivors include daughters, Terri Bruce (Tom White) of Toccoa, Georgia, Tamara Neal (Thomas Nicholson) of Cartersville, Georgia; son, Tommy Pressley (Deborah) of Williams, Arizona; grandchildren, Sylvia Richardson (John), Dwight Eason (Jessica), Christy Frothingham (Chris), Robert Pressley (Amy), Chase Pressley, Taylore Pressley, Nathan Pressley and Brandon Pressley (Lindsey); great-grandchildren, Emma, Noella, Camden, Riley, Levi, RJ, Trinity and Corbin; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 14, 2025, 1 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Phil Hargrove officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jerry Jones, Chase Pressley, John Richardson and Dwight Eason.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Peggy Arlene Long Pelfrey.
