With deep sorrow and great love, we announce the passing of Mr. Phillip Frederick Clark, a gracious and devoted father, grandfather, brother, coach, veteran, and faithful follower of Jesus. He entered his eternal heavenly home on March 8, 2025 at the age of 71. Phil was born in Atlanta, Georgia, a son to the late Inman Harold Clark, Sr and the late Grace Davidson Clark. Phil was a painting contractor and a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, Phil was preceded in death by his brother, Inman (Buddy) Harold Clark, Jr; and sisters, Avaline Clark Boles and Millie Pearl Skelton. He is survived by his sons, Bryan Phillip Clark and his wife Laura of Jefferson, Blake Inman Clark and his wife Tyler of Monroe; sisters, Kathie Lee of Winder and Rachel Ferguson of Loganville; and grandchildren, Maddox Clark, Luke Clark, Lily Clark, Lincoln Clark, and Emersyn Clark.
As a proud veteran of the United States Army, he served with honor and dedication, embodying courage and sacrifice in all that he did. His commitment to duty extended beyond his military service, shaping the way he loved and led those around him.
As a devoted father and grandfather, Phil cherished his family above all. He found great joy in every moment spent with them, offering wisdom, laughter, and unwavering support.
As a coach, he was more than just a mentor on the field. Coach Phil was a guiding light in the lives of many, teaching not only the game but also the values of commitment, perseverance, integrity, and teamwork. His influence reached far beyond the sidelines, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of those he led.
Phil was also an influential figure in the recovery community, where he dedicated himself to helping others find hope, healing, and purpose. Through his compassionate heart and lived experience, he offered guidance and strength to those on their own paths to recovery. His commitment to serving others was a powerful testament to the grace and redemption he experienced in his own life
Most importantly, Phil was a man of deep and abiding faith. His love for Jesus guided his every step. Whether through acts of kindness, words of encouragement, or steadfast prayer, he reflected the love and grace of Christ in all that he did. He faithfully and graciously passed down his love for Jesus into the hearts of his children and grandchildren.
A Memorial Service and celebration of Phil’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 19 at 3:00 PM in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with military honors.
