Maria Nancy England

Obituary Date: Saturday, March 8, 2025

 

Mrs. Maria Nancy England, 84, of Gainesville closed her eyes to earth and opened them in Glory in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2025 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Burgamy and Rev. Scott Wilson will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

She was born on February 18, 1941 in Laoang Samar, Philippines to the late Matian Galit and the late Lucila Catiigtig.  Mrs. England was an avid goat farmer and in her spare time she loved to fish. She would spend numerous hours in the pond fishing.

A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, her greatest joy was loving and caring for her family. Her husband was her everything. She cherished and loved every second that she could spend with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all her family. Each person brought with them a special love and memories for her. When her sisters would come for visits, they would have the best time cooking and reminiscing.  She was a Proverbs 31 wife and mother, “Her children will rise up and call her blessed.”

In addition to her parents, Mrs. England was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Clarence England; brother, Delfin Galit; sisters, Victoria G. Rogando, Manuela G. Teces, Sequendina G. Cerbito, Gloria G. Ruff and step daughter, Karen England.

Mrs. England is survived by her son and daughter in law, Michael and Carmen Burgamy of Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Donna and Allan Horton of Gainesville; daughter, Myra Burgamy of Oakwood; stepson and wife, Kim and Tammy England of Buford; adopted daughter, Karen Moore of Gainesville who was her primary caregiver for over 10 years; sisters, Josie Stone of Quitman, GA, Linda Luz Galit of Manila Philippines and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives.

Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Rd., Gainesville, Ga. 30504 is in charge of the arrangements.
