Lillian Sue Wurtz, a beloved homemaker and dedicated farmer’s wife, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, in Gainesville, Georgia. Born on November 30, 1945, in Cleveland, Georgia, Lillian lived a life characterized by hard work, love, and an unwavering commitment to her family.

Lillian is remembered as a steadfast supporter of her loved ones, providing for her family with both skill and affection. Her contributions to the home and family extended beyond mere chores; she infused every aspect of her family's life with her nurturing spirit, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion.

She is survived by her cherished daughters, Rebecca (Dennis) Griffin, Deborah (David) Thompson, and Roxanna Sage, along with her son, Benjamin E. (Lori) Wurtz. Lillian took great pride in her family, and her legacy continues through her 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.

Lillian's memory will remain in the hearts of her siblings: Richard Standridge and Deborah Hixenbaugh. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert Benjamin Wurtz, Jr., as well as her parents, Benjamin and Mamie Brown Standridge. Lillian was also preceded in death by her infant brothers, Jack and Gary Standridge, and her brothers, James Standridge, Artis Standridge, and Freddy Standridge, along with her sisters, Johnnie Edmundson, Delores Meeks, and Diane Patrick.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Lillian's life during a visitation on March 9, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce, Georgia. A funeral service will be held the following day, March 10, 2025, 11:00 AM at Ivie Funeral Home, followed by interment at Standridge Family Cemetery. This gathering will be an opportunity for all who knew and loved Lillian to come together to remember her remarkable life and cherish the joyful moments shared.

Lillian Sue Wurtz leaves behind a beautiful legacy woven through the lives she touched, and her spirit will remain a source of comfort and strength to her family and friends.
