Paul T. Bateman

Obituary Date: Wednesday, March 5, 2025

Mr. Paul T. Bateman, Jr., age 80 of Flowery Branch passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 10, 2025 at Memorial Park South Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Schulta officiating and Minister of Music, Mark Green, providing music.  Interment will follow after at Memorial Park South Cemetery with Pastor Ron Grizzle officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who lived a full and joyful life. He cherished the time spent with Jeff and Jason’s friends during their younger years, whether through church youth group activities, weekends at the lake, or coaching countless sports teams. An active member of the Royal Lakes Golf Club, he formed lifelong friendships and enjoyed playing the game he loved. A passionate and competitive golfer, he proudly achieved a hole-in-one and celebrated many tournament wins, always enjoying rounds with his beloved group, “The Sunshine Boys.” 

Paul had a successful career in sales, running his own company, Paul Bateman Industrial Sales, before retiring. He and his wife, Dianne, shared a love for travel, exploring many places across Europe, with a particularly special trip to Scotland to visit the iconic “Old Course.” Above all, Paul loved his family deeply. He and Dianne were looking forward to celebrating their 60th anniversary in August. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Bateman, and is survived by his loving wife, Dianne, his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Suzanne, his grandson, Grady, and many cherished extended family members.

 

2 Timothy 4:7 – I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Fighting the good fight of the faith is also about perseverance and continuing even when the road is hard.
