Mrs. Edna Jane McDougald, 90, of Gainesville, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025 following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Harmony Hall Baptist Church. Rev. John Kinsey will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Born on January 27, 1935 in Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Childers and the late Lora Cochran Childers. She was retired from New Holland Mill where she was a spinner. Mrs. McDougald was a member of Harmony Hall Baptist Church. "Her children arise up and call her blessed." ~ Proverbs 31:28
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McDougald was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Andrew McDougald; daughter, Christine McDougald; son, David McDougald; granddaughter, Rhonda Miller and great granddaughter, Brittany Miller.
Mrs. McDougald is survived by her daughter and son in law, Denise and Stephen Thomas of Gainesville; grandchildren, Donny Lovell, Trent McDougald, Cody Thomas, Conner Thomas, Clay Phillips, Priscilla Eveans; great grandchildren, Kimberly Eller, Michael Miller, Dustin Lovell, Dylan Lovell, Kyle Smith, Rhett Thomas, Cash Thomas; 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Ester Chewning of Gainesville, Marie Kent of Gainesville, Edith Martin of Cumming; brothers, Benson Childers of Cumming, Frank Childers of Dawsonville, John Childers of Alto and a number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and other loving relatives.
