Mac Arthur Thompson Thompson

Mac Arthur Thompson, age 82, of Gainesville, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

Mr. Thompson was born on July 11, 1942, in Lumpkin County, to the late Johnny and Ada Corbin Thompson.  He was a retired truck driver.  In addition to his parents, Mac was preceded in death by his sisters, Jan Bazemore, Shelia Thompson, Thelma Wade, and Kathy Buckalew; brothers, Dewey Thompson, Donald Thompson, Clinton Thompson, J.C. Thompson, and Baby Thompson.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Allan Horton; daughters, Gail Thompson and JoAnne Thompson; grandchildren, Chrissy Weaver and Jade Weaver; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Frank Christy; sister, Opal Shelnut.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 7, 2025, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Leon Thompson will officiate.  Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
