Born February 11, 1959, in Gainesville, GA, to the late Savannah V. Brown and Julian L. Brown, Christopher Lewis Brown, age 66, passed away on February 25, 2025. Chris was a proud graduate of Gainesville High School, class of 1977, and went on to further his education at Valdosta State University. Driven by a strong sense of duty he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served with pride and created lasting memories. A man of many talents and passions, Chris had a profound love for music and the arts. He was a gifted artist, particularly known for his painting and drawing. Chris often found peace and joy in expressing himself through his creations, including murals that brightened the Gainesville community. His love for art and music was not merely a hobby; it was an essential part of who he was. Whether through the stroke of a paintbrush or the rhythm of a song, Chris found a sense of purpose, peace, and connection, bringing joy not only to himself but also to those around him. Chris was a member of Bethel Church of Nazarene, where he was an active part of the community. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wiggy Williams; Floyd “Biggan” Cleveland and Walter J. Pruitt, all of Gainesville, GA. He is survived by his brothers, Robert Pruitt and Keith Simpson of Gainesville, GA; sisters, Cindy Brown and Carolyn (Dwight) Chandler-Rowe of Gainesville, GA; sisters-in-law, Joyce (Walter) Pruitt and Chalvia (Keith) Simpson of Gainesville, GA; nieces, Angela Pruitt, Stacie (Richard) Hill, Kimberly Pruitt, Shantell (Kevin) Tate, Ebony Tucker, Darishone (Johnson) Paul, Shymerious Peoples, Ashanta Peoples, Tynayia Peoples, and Jordan Simpson of Gainesville, GA; nephews, Perry Pruitt of Gainesville, GA, and Walter Antione (Tiffany) Pruitt of Atlanta, GA, as well as a host of great nieces, great nephews, and family friends. Chris will be deeply missed by all who have had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of art, music, and kindness will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
