Lois Ann McDaniel Ledford

Lois Ann McDaniel Ledford passed away peacefully at home in Homer, Georgia on Sunday March 2, 2025 at the age of 93. Granny was born on October 17, 1931 in Burning Springs, Clay county, Kentucky.

She was the daughter of Robert McDaniel and Lula Mills McDaniel. Granny was one of 10 children and was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, JC McDaniel, Thelma McDaniel Lawing, Clyde McDaniel, Hazel McDaniel, Robert McDaniel, Sylvia McDaniel Moore, Juanita McDaniel, Ada Mae McDaniel, and Dorothy McDaniel Wilson. She married Sheryl Ledford in Clay County Kentucky on October 4, 1948, and was the matriarch of our family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Sheryl Ledford, and her sons, Sheryl “JR” Ledford, and Charlie Ledford. Over the years Lois Ledford owned and operated a number of businesses from a small community grocery store in Cincinnati Ohio, to a farm and service station in Versailles Indiana, finally working and retiring from Dayron Defense Systems in Orlando Florida. She loved Jesus and was saved in 1978 and was baptized at Lake Downey in Union Park Florida. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Union Park, and the First Baptist Church of Orlando. Most recently she attended Silver Shoals Baptist Church in Lula Georgia. She loved her family, she loved to travel, and she loved to fish. 

She is survived by her daughter Shirley Ann Ledford Boyle, and sons, Robert Ledford, and Tom Ledford. In addition to her children, she is survived by thirteen grandchildren, Dr. Michael Boyle,
Diane Boyle Emerson, Ashley Ledford, Jessica Ledford Ryan, Sean Ledford, Mordecai Ledford, Jacob Ledford, Bryan Ledford, Amber Ledford, Robbie Ledford, Jason Ledford, Danielle
Ledford Mosley, and Matthew Ledford. Sixteen great grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren also survive her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday March 6, 2025 from 11 pm until 1 pm with services in the chapel of Hillside Chapel Funeral Home, followed by graveside services at West View Cemetery
Lula, GA.
