Charles E. Banks, Sr., 88, of Flowery Branch, GA, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Funeral service will be held Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 2 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Pastor Earl Pirkle will officiate. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 5 PM – 8 PM at the funeral home. Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Neff; father, Clarence Banks; sons, Jimmy Banks and Daniel Banks; grandson, Greg Banks; sister, Jan Parker. He is survived by his wife, Doris Taylor Banks of Flowery Branch; children, Laurie Banks Thomas (Jamey) of Buford, Ed Banks (Kim) of Flowery Branch, Jeff Banks (Andrea) of Dawsonville; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren; sister, Clarice Breedlove (Richard) of Buford. Charles was born in Buford, GA and was a lifelong resident of the area. He retired from General Motors. For several years he sang in a gospel quartet. He was a member of Friendship Community Church where he served as a Deacon.
