Harold "Tom" Hughes, Jr.

Mr. Harold “Tom” Hughes, Jr., 67, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Gainesville.

A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2025 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Drewery Loggins officiating.

Born on September 20, 1957 in MI, he was the son of the late Harold Miller Hughes, Sr.  Tom has been an avid member of the Gainesville community and owner of Bike Town U.S.A. on Dawsonville Hwy. He opened the shop in 1978 and it has grown to be the largest independent bicycle shop in North Georgia. In addition to his love of bicycles, he loved fishing and tennis.

Mr. Hughes is survived by his daughter, Betsy Grunch, son-in-law, Raymond Grunch; son, Trent Hughes, daughter-in-law, Britney Hughes; grandchildren, Vada Hughes, Riley Grunch, Beatrice Grunch and Rory Hughes and stepmother, Shirley Hughes all of Gainesville.
