Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Ms. Melissa Ann Mooney, age 34, of Jefferson, Georgia who entered rest Thursday February 27, 2025. Ms.

Mooney was born in Oak Park, Illinois the daughter of Robert Paul Mooney Jr. and Barbara Ann Moeller Mooney of Jefferson, Georgia.

Melissa was an avid reader, especially Harry Potter series of books, she also learned four different languages. She was one of the strongest persons, from 3 months old, she fought the odds of living with many health challenges. Mel had the ability to look at her challenges with detemination and with a smile that lit up a room. She was a member of St. Catherine Laboure' Catholic Church, Jefferson, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Samantha Ann Mooney of Jefferson, GA. Aunt and Uncle, Joan and John Adamczyk of Norridge, IL. Cousin, Megan Adamczyk of Chicago, IL. She was preceded in death by her cousin, Matthew Adamczyk

A funeral mass will be held 12 noon Monday March 3, 2025 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church with Father Matthew Howard officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday March 1, 2025 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home.
