Mrs. Dorothy Jean “Dot” Kirby Davis, age 86 of Valley Drive, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025 surrounded by her family.
A daughter of the late Jesse Hoyt Kirby and Bessie Jewell Caudell Kirby, she was born September 21, 1938 in Stephens County, Georgia where she had lived all her life. She had lived on the Littleton Meeks Collins Family Property for most of her life. She was baptized in the early 50’s at Hill Street Baptist Church by the Reverend W.E. Brown. She was a 1956 graduate of Toccoa High School, was employed with Sears for 29 years as the Credit Manager, later working with the Stephens County Extension Office for nine years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church Toccoa and the Adult 3 Sunday School Class, the Stephens County Historical Society and The Gideons International Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Lamar Davis of the home; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Larry Nix of Toccoa; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; a number of nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 28, 2025, 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church with The Reverend Brett Sanders and The Reverend Evan Alexander officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Woody Blasingame, Douglas Bowers, Dennis Breedlove, Stephen Caudell, Shannon McFarlin and Keith Powell. Honorary escort will be the Adult 3 Sunday School Class, The Gideons International and Auxiliary.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 27, 2025, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Reverend David Ritcey officiating.
