It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Michael Ring, 71, of Clayton GA. He passed away from cancer on February 22, 2025. John was born on September 30, 1953 in Dunmore, Pennsylvania to John Francis and Christine Burghardt Ring. He is survived by his wife Yvonne and children James Jobbitt and Stephanie Hartley, Lt. Col. US Army. John was a dedicated husband and father who is remembered for his love of family, country, old trucks, drag racing, fishing, and his dogs.
John was known locally for his time as the owner of Mountain Glass and Mirror in Clayton from 1984 until his retirement in 2021. Prior to moving to Clayton, he was the co-owner of Parkway Auto Parts in Pompano Beach, Florida with his brother Bill Ring, now of Hays Kansas.
John was a dedicated father and community patron having been a Cub Scout leader, assistant Girl Scout leader, Booster Club member, and Christmas float design engineer. He also was a master of restoring old Chevy trucks.
In addition to being survived by his immediate family, John is survived by brother Bill Ring (Theresa); nephews Bill Jr.Ring (Colleen) and Scott Ring, brothers and sister-in-law Tom Fisher (Kandi), Ted Fisher (Crystal), and Ginger Nunn (Jeff). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and mother-in-law Karen Byers; and survived by his parents-in-law Tom and Diane Fisher of Warwoman.
Services will be held at Beck funeral home on Saturday March 1st with a viewing from 1:00 -3:30pm and service at 4:00 pm in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Paws for Life of Rabun County in John Ring’s honor. May you go rest high on the mountains, you are loved and will be missed.
