. Richard “Rick” Carl Hockman

Obituary Date: Sunday, February 16, 2025

Mr. Richard “Rick” Carl Hockman, age 70 of Persimmon Community, Clayton, Georgia, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025.

A son of the late Carl Edward Hockman and Anne Rehrig Hockman Densler, he was born January 14, 1955 in Clearwater, Florida.  He grew up in the Indian Rocks/Largo area of Florida where he was an avid fisherman in the Gulf of America.  He was a self-employed carpenter and jack-of-all-trades who could fix anything that could break and build anything that was needed.   He moved to the Persimmon Community to help his mother maintain the family mountain property when she was no longer able to manage it herself.  While living in Georgia, he discovered the joys of hunting and fishing for trout and also became a defender of all creatures, both domestic and wild.

Survivors include sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen H. Crozier (Michael) of Toccoa and Sandra H. Raus (Richard) of Alto; brother and sister-in-law, Robert B. Hockman (Sandy) of St. Petersburg, FL

A gathering of his family and friends will be held in the future.  If you wish to honor Rick, please make a donation to any donkey rescue or no-kill animal shelter.
