Lee Swofford

Lee Swofford, 70, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Northside Hospital Forsyth following a period of declining health.
Born July 26, 1954, Lee had been a resident of Dawson County for most of his life. He was a 1972 graduate of Forsyth County High School. Lee was a very talented woodworker and spent a large part of his career building cabinets. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, noodling and camping. He was a jack of all trades and was always there to lend a hand however he could. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Ida Mae Swofford and 8 siblings.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Barbara Swofford of Dawsonville; children, Steven Swofford (Kaytie) of Dawsonville, Stephanie Sheets of Cumming, Lora Davidson (Joe) of Gainesville, Joseph Pierce of Dahlonega, Patty Moon (Tim) of Gillsville; sisters, Mary Owens of Tennessee, Fannie Samples (Marvin) of Ellijay; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 21, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Allen Swafford and Rev Jerry Orr will officiate. Interment will follow in Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday February 20 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
