Pavon Dearman Eliason Brown “Nana”, age 77 of Alto, formerly from Flowery Branch, passed away peacefully from an extended illness surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 14th, 2025 under the exceptional care of Hospice of Northeast Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Memorial Park South Chapel with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery. Chaplain Aaron Watts will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
Pavon was born in Gainesville, Georgia on December, 23 1947 to the late Samuel Ernest Dearman and the late Inez Pinson Money. After graduating from Cocoa Beach High School, she attended University of Georgia where she pursued her passion for teaching, obtaining her specialist degree in Education. Pavon taught for over 34 years, with the majority of her career being at Flowery Branch Elementary School where she retired in 2009. After retirement, she continued to share her knowledge by private tutoring.
In addition to her parents, Pavon was predeceased by her loving husband, Hoyt Brown and brother, David Dearman Sr.
Survivors include her son and daughter in law Derick and Sandy Eliason of Cleveland, grandchildren Katie Davis (Kevin) of Cornelia; Kelsey Eliason (Roman Haynes) of Alto, Justin Cross (Kayla) of Alto, great-grand child Kaden Davis, step daughters, Debra Cross Mackel of Clarkesville, and Brenda Brown Oakes of Toccoa, siblings Blaine (Sally) Benson of California, Brian (Joyce) Benson, of Texas, and Karen Craven of California and several nieces and nephews.
What she treasured most in life was her family, friends, and her students. Above all, she valued the relationships she had with each and every person that was a part of her life. More than anything else, she loved being a mother, a grandmother, and a great grandmother.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her caregiver and friend, Jackie Dyer for the exceptional care and love that she provided to Pavon for the past several years.
