Dorothy Ann Cheek

Mrs. Dorothy Ann Cheek, age 75 of Commerce passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.  Mrs. Cheek was born in Jefferson to the late, Vergil and Annie Laurie Patat Garrett.  Mrs. Cheek was a nurse for 40 years retiring from Lakeshore Heights Nursing Center.  She was a member of Apple Valley Baptist Church and an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cheek was preceded in death by her husband, C.B. “Sonny” Cheek; brothers, John Henry Garrett, Jimmy Lee Garrett; and sister, Ludie Mae Nation.

Mrs. Cheek is survived by her sister, Barbara Watkins; brother-in-law, Charles Nation; nieces, Donna Aaron (Ken), Denice Fowler (Tim), Becky Nations; nephews, Virgil Nation and Lee Nation; five great nieces and seven great nephews; and sister-in-law, Virginia Garrett Case.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 19th at 2 PM from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12- 2 PM.
