James Luther Rider, age 62, of Pendergrass, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
He was born in Gainesville, Georgia on October 21, 1962. He is the son of Robert James Rider and the late Alberta Jewell (Gaddis) Rider.
He was a United States Army veteran and worked in construction his whole life. He loved golfing, the Georgia Bulldogs, the Atlanta Falcons and Nascar racing.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Della Marie New Rider; his father, Robert James Rider; his children, Rachel Rider-Messineo and Joseph Messineo, Chris Rider, Linda (Rider) and Scott Caylor, Tori and Zack Smith, Angela and Matthew Schwindler, Joyce Hare, Rebecca and Lynn Lambert, Emily and Jerry Roberts, Shaun and Karla Gee, and TJ Satterfield; his siblings, Betty and Donald Thompson, Robert and Kim Rider, and Phillip Rider; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as a host of other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother Alberta Jewell Rider and granddaughter Kaybreigh Lynn Elizabeth Smith.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and condolences.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 15, 2025, in the Chapel.
