Geneva “Genny” Freeman Satterfield

Geneva “Genny” Freeman Satterfield, age 96, of Gainesville, GA passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-nine, John D “JD” Satterfield; infant son, David N. Satterfield; parents, Al and Ruth Freeman; sister and brother-in-law, Genora (Wendell) Greene; sister, Vera Lee Clark; brother, G. T. Freeman; grandson, Ross Parker Smith. Mrs. Satterfield is survived by her children, John C. (Cheryl) Satterfield of Gainesville, Candi Smith of Duluth, GA, Joseph (Darlys) Satterfield of Gainesville; grandchildren, Jennifer (Rand) Boyd, J. Christopher (Andrea) Satterfield, Colt Benton (Kari) Smith, Chase Nicholas Smith; great-grandson, Garrett Boyd. Mrs. Satterfield was born on February 9, 1928 in Georgia. She graduated from Buford High School. Mrs. Satterfield was a retired beautician where she owned her own hair salon, Genny Beauty Shop. She was a member of the First Baptist Church located in Gainesville, a member of the Optimist Club, a mentor for Hall County School System and a former election poll worker. Mrs. Satterfield was an avid NASCAR fan. Genny enjoyed life to the fullest! She was a loving wife for 69 years and passionate about everything that had to do with her family. She had friends everywhere she went and cherished her memories with family and friends.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Buford, GA with Mr. Gary Carter officiating. The family will receive friends at ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Flanigan Funeral Home on Monday, February 24, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ministry of Caring at First Baptist Church in Gainesville or your favorite charity.
