Mr. Thomas Paul Zaken, 70, of Flowery Branch, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his family. Tom courageously fought a long battle with leukemia, showing incredible strength and grace throughout his journey.
A memorial mass will be held on February 21st at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm, followed by the mass at 2:00 pm. Father Pete Coppola will officiate. A private interment at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA will take place at a later time.
Born on January 25, 1955, in Elizabeth, PA, to the late Michael and Margaret (Plavchak) Zaken, Tom served in the United States Marine Corps before attending Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA. Over the course of four decades, he had a successful career in sales and business development in Georgia, most recently with Image Manufacturing Group in Norcross. He was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the American Legion.
While Tom had many professional accomplishments, his greatest pride came from his role as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, where he truly represented the gold standard. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Zaken of Flowery Branch, GA; son, Zachary Jarrett (Erin) Zaken of Buford, GA; grandchildren, Mitchel Jarrett, Leah Michelle, and Nathan Zachary Zaken, all of Buford, GA; brothers, Michael Zaken (Judy) of Pleasant Hills, PA, Ken Zaken (Aileen) of Coeur d’Alene, ID, and Dave Zaken (Lisa) of Washington, PA; and sister, Carol Hlodan of Elizabeth, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Red Cross, Blood Services Donation, in memory of Thomas P. Zaken.
