Jason Bret Stamey

Jason Bret Stamey, age 48, of Cornelia, passed away on Tuesday February 4, 2025.

Jason was born on March 24, 1976, in Gainesville.  He was a 1995 graduate of Habersham Central High School and was currently employed with the Georgia Department of Transportation.  He was previously employed with Habersham Hardware, where he served customers and community for 19 years.  In his spare time, he enjoyed the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.  Jason will be remembered as a hard worker, who loved his family, and was a devoted husband, daddy, and son.  He was currently a member of Double Springs Baptist Church, but had been in the ministry for 30 years in various places. 

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Rev. Cleve Allen, Jr. and Betty Jean Allen.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Rhonda Kay Stamey; son, Nate Stamey; mother and step father, Glenda Ann Allen Worley (Gary); sisters, Carrie Bredahl and Vonda Dover; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wanda Hulsey (Kevin); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 11 am on Friday, February 14, 2025, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire with Rev. Danny Hart and Rev. Wesley Purcell officiating.  Interment will follow in Habersham Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Johnson officiating.

Then family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the funeral home.
