Linda Jane (Sears) James

Linda Jane (Sears) James, October 4th, 1948 – February 7th, 2025, was born and raised in Buford, Georgia to parents, J. Loss and Piccola Sears.

To know Linda was to love her. She was caring, thoughtful, hardworking and loved nothing more than spending time with her family and friends. She loved her people fiercely and would have moved mountains for them. Linda was a bright light in the world, who brought joy, wit and uncontrollable laughter to all of those around her. 

Although there will never be another Linda Jane, her dedication to family and the life lessons she taught us all are an inspiration that will be passed down for many generations to come. Linda’s passing will be mourned deeply, but her memory will remain in the hearts of her family, friends and anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, J. Loss and Piccola Sears, son Jeff and mother-in-law and father-in-law, F. B. and Annie James. 

Linda is survived by her husband of 56 years, Stanley James; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Jimmy Lynn; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Nancy James; grandchildren, Zac and Melissa Lynn, Emma and Devan Bomar, Lila, Larkin and Leni James, great-granddaughter, Sophie Lynn; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Vicki James; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis and Janice James; brother-in-law, Larry James; several nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. 

Linda retired from Anixter Corp. on January 10, 2020 with 32 years of service. She was a 1966 graduate of Buford High School and a member of Buford First Baptist Church. 

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Stephen Fountain and Rev. Wayne Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens Buford, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
