Mr. Ray “R.C.” Clarence McNeal, 89, of Cumming, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at Mayfield Baptist Church. Rev. Sylvester Ridings, Rev. Wilburn Ridings and Rev. Casen Cranford will officiate. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Born on May 21, 1935 in Gainesville, to Paul and Willie Bell Cagle McNeal, he was a lifetime resident of Forsyth County. Mr. McNeal was a proud Veteran of the United States Army where he specialized in heavy machinery. Mr. McNeal was a trucker with the CB handle of Singing Man and later retired from Daniels Tours where he was a bus driver for over 15 years. Mr. McNeal was a member of Mayfield Baptist Church which he loved dearly. He loved to sing every chance he had and that included being part of singing groups one being family/sibling group.
In addition to his parents, Paul and Willie Bell, Mr. McNeal was preceded in death by his brother, Neal McNeal and sister, Mildred Tysor.
He was a devoted son and brother; a loving husband, father grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. McNeal is survived by his loving wife of 60 plus years, Clara Keith McNeal of Cumming; his adorning children; son and daughter in law, Tim and Lynn McNeal of Cumming; daughter and son in law, Tammy and Clay Smith of Cumming; brothers and sisters in law, Rev. James and Merle McNeal of Flowery Branch, Doug and Joyce McNeal of Clermont; sisters, Maryann Gibbs of Gainesville, Evelyn McGehee of Gainesville; his loving grandchildren who called him Papa Mac, Holden and Rachel McNeal, Haley and Will Sessions; his precious great grandchildren, Evelynn McNeal, Emma McNeal, David Sessions, Leah Sessions and a number of nieces, nephews and other close relatives.
The family would like to sincerely thank Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Cumming, Amedisys, Tugaloo Home Health of Cumming and Hospice of NEGMC for all the exceptional love and care provided to Mr. McNeal and the entire family.
