Obituary Date: Friday, February 7, 2025

Jonelle Baker Pirkle, 90, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 following an extended illness at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Mayfield Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Baker, Rev. Troy Milford and Rev. Sylvester Ridings will officiate. Interment will be in Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday, February 9th and Monday, February 10th, from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Born on July 30, 1934 in Gainesville, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Willie Belle Ferguson Baker. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She loved being a homemaker and was a member of Mayfield Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pirkle was preceded in death by her husband, James Albert Pirkle; daughters, Peggy Ann Knowles and Frances Marie Jones.

Mrs. Pirkle is survived by her loving daughter, Eva Jones of Gainesville, Janell Jones of Dahlonega, Diane Propes of Flowery Branch, Linda Jane Halsey of Gainesville; sons, J.R. Pirkle of Gainesville, J.D. Pirkle (Cheri) of Oakwood, J.A. Pirkle of Gainesville, J.C. Pirkle (Linda) of Gainesville, J.T. Pirkle (Barbara) of Flowery Branch, J.B. Pirkle of Braselton, 25 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brother Clinton Baker and a number of other loving relatives.
