Jane Goude Lacer

Jane Goude Lacer, a devoted Jesus follower, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 surrounded by family after fighting valiantly against a long health battle. Despite her suffering, she fought with a smile on her face, continually being kind to her healthcare workers and many supporters.  Jane continually expressed love and charity to those who crossed her path, including pets and wildlife.  She never met a stranger, and friends became more like family.  Her love of gardening and nature inspired her to become a Master Horticulturist with an ability to nurture and grow anything.  She raised her daughter with fierce love and devotion, and continued that passion with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Jane was born and raised in Georgetown, SC surrounded by a large, strong family.  Her adventurous spirit led her to college at the Art Institute of Atlanta and later completed her Horticulture degree.  She welcomed two children, Brian and Lara.  Although Brian lived less than a week, he was deeply loved.  Jane's esteemed career moved her and her daughter to Stevens Point WI, Grand Rapids MI, Atlanta GA and Edgefield SC.  After retiring she moved to North Georgia to be close to family. 

Preceded in death by her son Brian David McCallar, parents Lloyd & Myrtle Goude, Brother Jeffrey Goude and multiple extended family members.

Survived by her daughter Lara Morgan (Michael), Grand-daughter Marissa Benevento (Joey), Grandson Ryan Morgan, Grandson Eric Morgan (Hannah), Great-Grandchildren Eden & Harrison Morgan as well as Beloved Pets Maggie Mae and Ryder Buddy.
