It is with deep and profound sympathy that we announce the transition of Mr. Allen L. Mealing who entered into rest January 31, 2025. Allen LaMont Mealing was born May 1, 1974 to Elizabeth M. Ivey and Allen Mealing in Augusta, GA. He was baptized at an early age at Mealing Grove Baptist Church. After graduating from Strom Thurmond High School, LaMont served in the United States Merchant Marines for six years. He was known for being the class clown. He loved watching football and basketball. He also liked to believe he was a gourmet chef. Survivors include his parents, Elizabeth M. Ivey and Allen (Christina) Mealing; two sons, Darion LaMont Mealing and Demetrius Allen Mealing; a daughter, Kaliana Marie Mealing; two grandchildren, Nylah Rose Mealing and Miles David Mealing; one brother, George Cliffton (Jennilee) Mealing; three sisters, Tracy Michelle Mealing, Crystal TaNisha Marie Ivey (Michael Roundtree) and Sandra Coleman; uncles and aunts, CJ (Rosemary) Mealing (Godparents), Johnnie Mae (Vernon) Williams, Isaiah (Veronica) Mealing, Julia (Brooks) Quattlebaum, John Henry (Gail) Mealing, Crystal Blalock, Charles Edward (April) Blalock and Tywanda (Thadd) Allen; a very special friend, Tori Boyd; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm Friday, February 7, 2025, at G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Sanders officiating.
