Marjorie Thompson King, 87 of Dacula, Ga passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, January 26, 2025. Marjorie was born to the late Will and Willie Mae Thompson on August 18, 1937 in Sunflower Mississippi. She was a member of the New Gainesville SDA Church in Gainesville, Ga. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her love for Christ, her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her Husband John Ed King Sr., parents Will and Willie Mae Thompson, sisters, Laura Patterson, Prestee Hunter, Velma Bell and Norma Coleman. Brother Charlie Lee Thompson. Son, James Ed King, daughters Prestee King, Mae Hazel Liggins and Henrietta King, Special niece Willie Mae Davis, Brother-in-law Maydell Hunter, son in law, Billy Patterson.
Mrs. King is survived by ten daughters, Jeannett Edwards, Lois Ojo, Velma King, Jacqueline Odeh, Carol (Ernie) Hodge, Janice (Terry) Delong, Pamela Faye King, Zenova Nicole Patterson, Valerie King, Andreaka King; two sons, William (Barbara) King, John Ed King Jr.; two bonus sons, Jerry Earls, Patrick Pryor; thirty-five grandkids; sixty-one great grandkids; and two great-great grandkids. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and special loved ones: Preston Wright (nephew), Gloria Almond (niece), Senoris Thompson (niece), Nelly Cunningham (niece) Sonya Cunningham (niece) Redell Patterson (nephew) Lavoynne Stolden (sister in Christ), and Henrietta Rouse (sister in Christ).
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at First Baptist Church, 1810 MLK, Jr. Blvd. Gainesville, GA.
