Billy Earl Keeton, 72, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Born July 16, 1952, in Albertville, AL, to the late Harvey and Opal Keeton, he lived in the North Georgia area most of his life. Mr. Keeton worked in Law Enforcement with the City of Alpharetta Police Department and retired from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. After his retirement, he worked part time for the Dawson County. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had formerly served on the Alpharetta City Council. Billy enjoyed fishing, gardening, and rescuing animals. Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Gail Keeton, Sherry Ann Keeton; brothers, Garland Keeton, Thomas Keeton, Robert Keeton, Quinn Keeton, and Glen Keeton.
Surviving are his daughters, Kelly Claxton, Hoschton, Karry Keeton and Mitchell Boothe, Jefferson; grandchildren, Madeline Claxton, Lillian Claxton, Kyson Bute, Victor Bute, Kane Bute; the mother of his children and her husband, Cathy and Barry Rutherford, Hoschton; brother and sister in law, Wade and Debbie Keeton, Albertville, AL; sister in law, Carolyn Keeton, Albertville; and his loving dog, Pete.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 12 noon at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Glenn Byrd will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
Mr. Keeton will be taken to Albertville, AL, for interment in the Marshall Memorial Gardens on Sunday, February 9, 2025.
