Mary Nix Pittman

Mrs. Mary Nix Pittman, age 81 of Commerce passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Pittman was born in Commerce to the late, Hal Morgan and Jenny Holcomb Nix. Mrs. Pittman got her Master’s degree from the University of Georgia; she retired from Commerce City School System where she was a counselor and she later served on the Commerce City School Board of Education. She was also a member of The Grove.

Mrs. Pittman is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Sanders (Curt) of Peachtree Corners; son, John Pittman (Joni) of Rome; five grandchildren, Chase Pittman, Chandler Pittman, Mary Mac Pittman, Henry Sanders, and Oliver Sanders; and sister-in-law, Linda Nix.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 30^th at 11 AM from The Chantry at the Grove with Pastor Brent Lord officiating with the interment following at Apple Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at The Chantry on Thursday from 10-11 AM.
