Mr. Alan Ray Nix, 67, of Flowery Branch, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Braselton following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Phil Carpenter will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Born on November 21, 1957 in Fairbanks, Alaska, he was the son of Wallace Ray Nix and Mary Ann Seay. Mr. Nix was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and remained an active reservist for several years. He retired from his company, ANA Audio Division, and was a member of Chicopee Baptist Church. He was an avid tennis player and record collector when he was not spending time with his loved ones. His passion for tennis and music was so powerful that he instilled the same passion into his beloved daughters.
Mr. Nix was preceded in death by his uncle, Jerry Nix; brother, Wallace “Wally” Lee Nix; grandfather, Wallace Nix and wife Pidge Nix; maternal grandmother, Ann Bedford; paternal grandmother, Verdell Philyaw Nix; father in law, Leonard Walters; and stepfather, Young John “Johnnie” Seay.
Mr. Nix ix survived by his wife, Montey Walters Nix of Flowery Branch; daughters, Caroline Dawn Nix of Flowery Branch, Cady Leann Nix of Knoxville, TN; mother, Mary Ann Seay of Flowery Branch; father, W. Ray Nix and Poochie Nix (Second Mama) of Gainesville; mother in law, Mildred Walters of Gainesville; sister and brother in law, Toni and Tommy Mundy of Cleveland; nieces, Ansley Hersey (Trevor) of Smyrna, Cindy Fischer of Smyrna; sister, Robin Kondaveeti of Gainesville; sister and husband, Debbie and Bryan Hendrix of Braselton; nephew, Jacob Hendrix of Atlanta; nieces, Morgan Beatty (Josh) of Jefferson, Samantha Whitt (Josh) of Buford, Rachel Hendrix of Atlanta; uncle and aunt, Boone and Ann Strickland of Gainesville, and a number of other loving relatives.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia, 2150 Limestone Parkway, Gainesville, GA 30501.
