Mr. Emmett Leon Smith, age 83 of Toccoa passed away Friday, January 24, 2025.
A son of the late Hoyt and Veneeta Whiten Smith, he was born May 12, 1941 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived most of his life. He was a United States Army veteran. He was employed for a number of years with Trogdon Furniture as a Boiler Operator. He loved gardening, walking uptown, going to Ida Cox, reading and was always willing to help others. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Forrest Smith, Bruce Smith, Roy Smith, and Tyrus Smith.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Kenneth Heaton of Eastanollee; his son and daughter-in-law, Leon Junior and Lisa Smith of Toccoa; grandson, Lee (Brittany) Woody; granddaughter, Melissa Davis (Alex); and five great-grandchildren, Carson, Emma, Avery, Sutton and Harrison; brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Jackie Smith, David and Gail Smith, Larry and Buena Smith; sisters and brother-in-law, Glenda Kellett, Brenda Cobb, Connie and Cecil Nicholson; sisters-in-law, Doris Smith, Bonnie Smith, Yvonne Smith.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 27, 2025 at 2 P.M. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Truitt Phillips and Dr. Kenneth Franklin officiating.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Lee Woody, Cody Smith, Carson Woody, Kenneth Heaton, Wesley Smith, Keifer Smith, and Cecil Nicholson.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by the Grant-Reeves Veterans Honor Guard.
