Eugene Pruitt

Mr. Eugene Pruitt, age 90 of Dahlonega passed away Friday, January 24, 2025. 

Mr. Pruitt was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was born on May 23, 1934, to the late Roy and Pearl Anderson Pruitt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-six years, Hazel Dockery Pruitt, sisters Louise Pruitt Grindle and Wardye Pruitt Wimpy, and nephews Jack Wimpy and Melvin Wimpy.  

Mr. Pruitt retired after 40 years from Pine Tree as a supervisor. He was a member of Cavender Creek Baptist Church. His favorite pastimes were deer hunting in South Georgia and fishing at Lake Fontana in North Carolina. 

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law Glyndon and Kimberly Pruitt, Dahlonega; daughter and wife Connie Pruitt and Patricia Cocciolone, Lilburn; grandchildren Anthony Pruitt (Jonathan Grindle), and Alexandra Jones (Dylan Jones); great-grandson Asher Jones all of Dahlonega; nephew Jeff Wimpy (Tracy), niece Marjorie Mason; caregiver Roberta Hayes; several friends and other relatives. 

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2025, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home.  The Rev. Stephen Adams will officiate.  Interment will follow in Cavender Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
