Mary Jacqueline “Jackie” Chambers Anderson

Mary Jacqueline “Jackie” Chambers Anderson, 92, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025 in Lumpkin County following a period of declining health.

Jackie was born November 10, 1932 in Dawson County to the late Will and Pearl Palmour Chambers.  She became a member of the Baptist faith in 1943, was a graduate of the Dawson County High School class of 1949, and was a past president of the Dawson County Historical Society.  Jackie was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William Winston “Wink” Anderson; sister and brother in law, Monnie Lou “Sue” and Guy Holladay; brothers and sisters in law, Charlie Raymond and Beulah Chambers, William Richard “Bill” and Billie Doris Chambers; John Homer Chambers; and son in law, Joel K. Mayo.

Surviving are her children, Wanda Anderson Mayo, Hayesville, NC, Tim Anderson, Dawsonville, Teresa Anderson, Dawsonville;  sister in law, Mazie Songer, Cumming; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. Cory Gilleland will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
