Vernon Gerard Mullins

Vernon Gerard Mullins, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and sibling, passed away on January 16, 2025. He was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, on November 5, 1954.
Vernon is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Mullins, and their three children: Vernon Charles Mullins, Alexander Lee Mullins, and Melissa Mary Johnston. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Samuel Elijah Mullins, Alison Grace Mullins, Benjamin Logan Mullins, and Harrison Chase Johnston, who lovingly called him “Gramps” and “Bear.” His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he lived for the joy of spending time with them.
He is also survived by his siblings: Karen Moss, Chuck Mullins, Dianne Robbiano, and Colleen Mullins, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will deeply miss him.
Vernon had a special way of making everyone feel like family. His kindness, generosity, and ability to connect with others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He embraced people from all walks of life, always welcoming them with open arms. Vernon was purposefully present in the lives of many, offering guidance, and support. Vernon was known for his incredible sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. He had a unique gift for lighting up any room, effortlessly bringing joy and laughter to those around him.
His love for his family, his generous spirit, his sense of humor, and his warmth will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
The Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, January 24, 2025 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Chaplain Greg Pocock officiating (St. Joseph’s Hospital). Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., the time of the Service.
