Delmus Benton Adams Jr., affectionately known as "Feller", age 88, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on January 18, 2025. He was born in Gainesville, Georgia, on June 1, 1936, to the late Delmus Benton Adams and the late Lois Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Pauline Louderback, Kate Woody, and Roger Adams. He is survived by his siblings Evelyn Grella (Gerald) of New York, John Quincy of Washington, Joann Smith of Cleveland, Georgia, Margie Nell Adams Barnes of Dahlonega, Georgia, Talmage Adams (Judy) of Cumming, Georgia, and Nina Martin of Dahlonega, Georgia. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive.
Feller owned and operated a big truck that he loved to drive, and he had a passion for operating chainsaws and heavy equipment. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving with honor in Panama and Vietnam. Feller was devoted to his Baptist faith.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025, in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Kris Butler will officiate. Interment will follow in the cemetery of Saint Paul United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
